Terms of Service

Last updated July 2026

This summary describes how Rafiki AI actually works today. It has not been through legal review, and the registered company name and address and the governing law and jurisdiction are still to be confirmed. The binding version is the one published at rafikiai.africa; where the two differ, that one governs.

These terms are the agreement between you and Paneotech for your use of Rafiki AI at console.rafikiai.io. Creating an account accepts them. If you are agreeing on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to bind it.

What the service is

Rafiki AI is a gateway. Your requests are routed to AI models operated by third parties, currently Alibaba, Anthropic, DeepSeek, Google, Groq, Meta, MiniMax, Mistral, Moonshot, OpenAI, Zhipu and xAI, through a single OpenAI-compatible interface, alongside the screens where keys, usage, budgets and billing are managed.

We do not build or train these models. Which are available, what they cost and how they behave is decided by their operators and can change without notice, including a model being withdrawn entirely. The catalogue in Rafiki AI shows what is reachable at any moment and marks what is not.

Routing is part of the service. In Auto mode we choose a model on your behalf from the cost and quality preferences you set; you can always name a specific model instead.

Accounts and access

An account needs a verified email address and is approved by us before it can be used. We may decline or withdraw approval at our discretion, including where an account appears automated, duplicated, or set up to evade an earlier suspension.

You are responsible for everything done under your account and for keeping your password and API keys secret. An API key carries your spending authority: anyone holding it can make chargeable requests. Revoke a key in Rafiki AI the moment you think it is exposed. Two-factor authentication is available in Settings and we recommend it.

Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you believe your account or a key has been compromised.

Acceptable use

You may not use the service to break the law, to infringe anyone's rights, to attempt unauthorised access to any system, or to generate material that sexually exploits children, incites violence, or is built to harass or defraud.

Your requests are executed by the upstream provider you are routed to, and their usage policies apply as well as ours. A prohibition imposed by a provider is in practice a prohibition here, and we will pass on a refusal or suspension that originates with them.

You may not resell raw gateway access in a way that conceals that a third-party model is answering, and you may not use the service to build a directly competing model-routing product.

We may suspend an account immediately where its use presents a legal or security risk, and will tell you why unless we are prevented from doing so.

Credit, packages and payment

The service is prepaid. You add credit, a custom amount, or one of the packages offered, and requests draw it down as they are metered. A package grants a stated amount of credit, sometimes more than its price. It does not grant a fixed number of tokens: any token figure shown beside a package is an estimate, and what your credit actually buys depends on which models you use.

Payment is taken by third-party processors. Card details and mobile-money credentials are handled by them and never reach us. Credit appears on your balance when the processor confirms the payment, which is usually immediate but, by design, is not guaranteed to be.

Credit does not expire. It has no cash value, cannot be transferred between accounts, and is not refundable except where the law requires it or where we have charged you in error, in which case tell us and we will put it right.

Metered usage is calculated from the tokens your requests consume, at the per-model prices shown in the catalogue. Those prices can change when a provider changes theirs; Rafiki AI shows the current figure and your usage records show what you were actually charged.

Your content

You keep every right you already hold in what you send and in what the models return. We claim no ownership of either.

To run the service we necessarily transmit your requests to the provider serving the model you chose, and we store your conversations, saved prompts and memories so the product can show them back to you. We do not use your content to train models and we do not sell it. The Privacy Policy sets out exactly what is stored and for how long.

AI output is generated, not verified. It can be wrong, out of date or entirely fabricated while sounding confident. You are responsible for checking anything you rely on, and the service should not be the sole basis for medical, legal, financial or safety-critical decisions.

Availability and support

We aim to keep the service running, but we do not offer a service level agreement and do not promise any particular uptime, latency or model availability. Much of that depends on upstream providers we do not control.

Support is best-effort, by email. Planned maintenance is announced in Rafiki AI where we can foresee it.

Liability

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

Subject to that, neither party is liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profits, revenue, goodwill or anticipated savings, or for loss or corruption of data, however caused.

Subject to the same, our total liability in connection with the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.

The service is otherwise provided as is, without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement, so far as the law permits.

Ending the agreement

You can stop using the service at any time, and take your data with you: Settings, Your data downloads it, as a page you can read or as a data file for another system, both built from the same read. The same screen closes a workspace, which removes the workspace and everything keyed to it. Deleting the account itself is not yet something you can do from Settings, so ask us and we will do it by hand. A workspace can only be closed once its agents are deleted, and deleting an agent removes the records of the work it did along with it. Usage and billing records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires.

We may terminate or suspend an account for a material breach of these terms, for non-payment, or where the law requires it. Where we terminate an account that is not in breach, we refund unused credit.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes go to the email address on your account at least 30 days before they take effect, and the date at the top of this page changes with them.

If you do not accept a change, stop using the service before it takes effect and tell us; we will refund unused credit. Continued use after that date accepts the revised terms.

Governing law

The governing law, and the courts that would hear a dispute, are not yet settled for this installation. Until they are, the binding version of these terms published on the marketing site is the one that states them.
